Hidden Water

FILMMAKER

Hidden Water is a non profit organization that my family and I were heavily involved in 2019-2020. For Giving Tuesday I produced, wrote, directed, and edited a film to give donors and future participants an overview of the organization. This film is a view into the incredible work Hidden Water does for victims of child sexual abuse.

Malaika Children’s Home

FilmMaker

Over the years I’ve helped an orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania (Malaika Children’s Home), create a stronger more engaging presence on their social media channels. I also created the above film in efforts to detail what donors’ contribution would go towards, which has been used on their social/donation platforms as well as their fundraising events. I’m proud to be associated with this incredible organization and truly look forward to creating content to help bring a better education to these special children.

NEW WOMEN NEW YORKERS

Blog Contributor

In recent years I’ve searched for an organization to be apart of while still being able to flex my creative mussels. I came across New Women New Yorkers who’s mission is to help immigrant women find their way in New York City. I’ve written profile blog posts profiling immigrant women describing their trials and tribulations when navigating the harsh realties of being a foreigner in this country. Being the daughter of a Colombian immigrant, this mission is close to my heart and I look forward to continuing to help NWNY’s mission in anyway that I can.

Centro de Recursos Educativos para adultos  (CREA)

English Teacher

In 2014 I started teaching English to Latin American Immigrants with a wonderful organization called CREA. Based in East Harlem, here I was able to exercise my love for teaching weeknights while still being able to work in advertising. CREA’s mission to provide immigrants free basic English & educational courses they needed to succeed in New York City, is a mission that is close to my heart. The immigrant’s journey when landing in the states, is a difficult one, but CREA has created a community and safe space for them to thrive in their future endeavors. I’m proud to have served as a teacher with CREA and hope to partner with them again in years to come.
